Natural Cutting-edge Science Campus

Hana Square is the central point of the Science Campus of Korea University, which forms a harmony between the modern touches of art and the dynamic visions of the students. Various facilities including fitness center, performing hall, DVD room, multimedia room, bookstore and food and drink shops, including specialty coffee shops, occupy the Square. The university has built an environmentally friendly campus without cars at ground level and with more green spaces.

In KUME, there are variety of clubs such as Automobiles club, Robotics Club (Kashimov), Aircraft Club (KUVO), Soccer Club, Basketball Team, and many more. Through these extracurricular activities, KUME students build friendship and teamwork. In addition, a sporting event between Korea University and Yonsei University serve to develop a unique Korean University culture and competitive excellence one-step further.

Food
Easily find for international food restaurants around Korea University

For foreign students in our department, there is no problem for them to take food outside because they can easily find for international food restaurants around Korea University. The area which is located near to the Science Campus’ back gate is just like a food heaven for everyone. We can find a various type of international dishes there ranges from Japanese cuisine to Indian cuisine at reasonable price. For Muslim, there are several restaurants those serve Halal foods such as Uzbekistani restaurant and many more. Foreign students here also can find more choices for international foods in Itaewon, the district for foreigner in Seoul. It takes only 20 minutes to go there subway.
Instead of having lunch or dinner outside, foreign students in our department also enjoy taking food in student cafeteria. This cafeteria serves typical Korean dishes at cheaper price. In this cafeteria, there a lot of dishes served but we can choose on our preference. Students usually prefer to have lunch or dinner here since they can save their time not to go outside especially during the exam week.

Tip for Muslim student Our department is always making effort to fulfill foreign student’s need. For Muslim student, they can perform their regular prayers in a room which was allocated by our department. The room is located in the faculty building, Innovation Hall and can be accessed freely anytime. As our campus is near to Itaewon, Muslim students can go and perform prayer in central mosque there. It takes about 20 minutes by train to reach there from Anam Station, the nearest station from science campus.
Accommodation

It is actually not that hard to find a house in Korea. But it is hard to find a house near campus. Moreover it is quite expensive to live in the house near campus. To find a house quite far from campus is much easier and it is less expensive compared to the one near the campus. If you want to find a house, we advise you to go the real estate and tell them what kind of house do you want to live in. Then they will help you to find a house that suits your requirements.

Shopping and fun
Korea University is near with Seoul’s main shopping district- MyeongDong. Its only takes 25 minutes from Korea University by subway. Korea University is surrounded by restaurant and shopping area.
